When we think of Worship, the first thing that comes to our thought is music. However, the true meaning of the word "worship in the Bible has little to do with music. Its literal meaning in the Old Testament meant to "bow-down, to prostrate oneself, to look toward, or to kiss toward". These descriptions tell us that worship is both the heart's attitude and physical action before or towards God. It involves our Whole being. It is a word that fitly describes our Relationship with God. |
Praise, on the other hand, has alot to do with music. The last few chapters of I Chronicles describe how David organized the temple service and order of Levites. "David, together with the commanders of the army set apart some of the sons of Asaph, heman and Jeduthun for the ministry of prophesying, accompanied by harps, lyres and cymbals" (I Chronicles 25:1) Stories told in places like I Samuel 10, I Samuel 16, II Kings 3, teach us that music served as an instrument to release God's power an prophetic anointing. Remember the Israelites at the wall of Jericho? How about Gideon's army? In all these examples, praise accompanied by MUSIC brought down God's mighty presence.
We are called to Declare his Praises to the Whole World
To sum it up, worship is vertical whereas praise is horizontal. They are not exclusive to one another. We do need to bow to our Heavenly Father daily in love, reverence and WORSHIP. At the same time, we are called to declare His PRAISES to the whole world. In fact, Isaiah 43:21 says that we were created for this PURPOSE! |
Music Ministry Our Music Ministry is under the direction of Greg Frost. The 50 voice adult choir from the ages of 13 & up ministers during every Sunday night service with dynamic music, anointed singing and powerful ministry! Currently our band consists of 11 musicians, rotating instruments and directing. |  |
Children's Choir Our Children's Choir is under the direction of Tiffany Frost and ranges from the ages of 4-12 and currently consists of 40 members. Each year the Children's Choir performs at various community events and at Christmas time, the Childrens Choir produces a Christmas musical, Christmas caroling and several public performances. The Children's Choir sings every other Thursday night during church service.
FGT Men's Trio Full Gospel Tabernacle Men's Trio has widely been gaining attention due to the incredible vocal talents and charisma of the group consisting of Greg Frost, our church Music Minister, Lawrence Trump, our church bass player and a soon to be famous recording artist with the California W.A.Y. Choir and Ryan Schramek, our church guitarist. Currently the Men's Trio sings as special performances on Thursday Night's and has performed for our local city's Arts Alive.
Frost Trio/Quartet The Frost Trio/Quartet is comprised of the Frost sisters and their father, Tiffany Frost,one of our church main organist and Childrens Choir Director, Melonie Frost, one of our church main bass players, Courtney Frost, one of our chuch main drummers and Greg Frost our music minister. This incredible family singing sensation has been to conventions, fairs, weddings and most recently Nashville, Tennesse to sing at the A.Q.U.A convention and recording. Look for this group coming soon on DVD & CD.
FGT Youth Choir FGT Youth Choir is an up and coming choir for youth ages 13-25. Anointed singing, anointed ministry and vivacious young people, all in one group with the desire to set hearts on fire! This group perfoms on special occasions and may start our Sunday Evening Praise & Worship Service....
